NRT Bursaries and Scholarships

NRT Post-Secondary Scholarships and Bursaries
   
NRT Scholarships and Bursaries are available to First Nation students pursuing a post-secondary education from a recognized institution. Scholarships are awarded at the Bachelors, Masters, Doctorate levels. Bursaries are awarded to students pursuing trades certificates and diplomas.



NRT has allocated a total of $750,000 for Scholarship & Bursary funding in 2011-2012. The breakdown of awards is as follows:

    * 60 Bursaries for Certificate, Diploma and/or Trades @ $2,000 each
    * 40 Undergraduate degree Scholarships @ $5,000 each
    * 20 Masters degree Scholarships @ $10,000 each
    * 10 Doctorate degree Scholarships @ $20,000 each

Application Deadline
The first call for bursaries begins April 15, 2011. The second call will be available August 15, 2011. There is no deadline for applications. Half the bursaries are awarded each call until funds exhausted.

Fields of Study
All fields of study are eligible.

Eligibility
Bursary awards are available to students who are registered members of a BC First Nation and have been accepted to attend a recognized post secondary or training institution on a full-time basis.

Bursary Application
A complete application must include the following elements:
  * Bursary application form completed and signed;
  * A letter of support from your First Nation or First Nation Government;
  * Proof of citizenship from BC First Nation;
  * Acceptance letter at a recognized post-secondary or training institution; and
  * Up-to-date resume.
