Please take notice that Tsawout First Nation will be holding a meeting for Tsawout First Nation members on 29th February, 2012 at 3:00 pm- 6:00 pm. Refreshments and door prizes will be provided.

MEETING AGENDA
At the meeting Tsawout First Nation will:

  1. Seek approval of the ST̸ÁUTW̱ First Nation ŚMELI (Matrimonial) Real Property Law; and
  2. Seek input on the proposed Subdivision, Development and Servicing Law.

Health & Recreation Grant

Just a reminder that proof of residency is needed for Health & Recreation Grant applications. Any of the following will be accepted:

  • Hydro bill
  • Phone bill
  • Cable bill
  • Revenue Canada child tax papers.  

 

The mail that you hand in has to have your name on it. You have to be a Canadian resident to be eligible for the grant.  Handing in ID from the United States is not acceptable and you will not be eligible for the grant.

 

Also needed is a copy of your status card and a copy of status card for your child(ren).

Only one application is needed to be filled out for the year.  If you've had a child since the last distribution, please ensure that baby's name is included on your application and proof that you are applying for a status card for your baby.

 

Ready to Rent

The housing department has an upcoming posting for a workshop.

It is now MANDATORY at Tsawout (and at most rental properties in Victoria, ie. M'akola Housing), to have a certificate for the "Ready to Rent" course; attaining this certificate in one of the requirements in order to qualify for housing with Tsawout First Nation.

Al-Anon is self-help recovery program for people who believe their lives may have been affected by someone else's drinking. We come together to find help and support in dealing with the effects of alcoholism in our lives. The single purpose of these programs is to help families and friends of alcoholics, whether the alcoholic is drinking or not.
